Tree Care Guide

Use this guide when caring for your newly planted tree.

Watering your tree(s) is vital to the survival after transplanting. This will allow the tree to reestablish a strong root system. Please follow these guidelines to give your tree(s) the best possible chance for success:

  • Deep soakings are better for trees than frequent shallow waterings. The soil should be kept moist at all times.

  • For trees planted in April or May, water on days 1 and 5, and then again on weeks 2, 3, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16. Cease watering mid-September.

  • For trees planted in June water on days 1, 5, 10, and 15 and then again on weeks 4, 6, 8, and 10. Cease watering mid-September.

  • For trees planted in July water on days 1, 5, 10, and 15 and then again on weeks 4, 6, and 8. Cease watering mid-September.

  • For trees planted in August water on days 1, 5, 10, and 15 and then again on week 4. Cease watering mid-September.

  • For trees planted in September water on days 1 and 5 and then again on weeks 2 and 3.

  • For trees planted in October, November, or December water once on day 1.

Note: It is not necessary to water trees on weeks that provide ≥ 1” of rain. Please contact us if you have any questions.
