What is a tree spade?

A tree spade is a hydraulic digging machine which uses hardened steel blades to dig a large circular hole around the trunk of a tree.

  • The root ball dug by a tree spade keeps the roots of the tree intact. This vastly improves the survivability when moving large trees.

  • Transplanting trees using a tree spade is a clean, quick, and economical process.

  • Most trees can be dug throughout the summer.
